ARTIUM's Library has a collection of more than 75,000 references including monographs, exhibition catalogues, periodicals, dossiers on artists and entities, posters and audiovisual material.

Besides being a key element in the documentation work of the different departments that make up ARTIUM, the Library offers a freely accessible service available to everyone, be they researchers, students or art enthusiasts, interested in any of the multiple facets of contemporary art, from plastic arts and the cinema to music and the comic.

Activities

On the other hand, ARTIUM's Library is an especially dynamic unit, which, apart from programming regular activities relating to the collections it manages, video art and sound art, film, contemporary music, dramatic arts, artists and contemporary art movements, promotes initiatives that link the worlds of art and books (Letras para el arte (a writer is invited to talk about an artwork in the collection from a literary viewpoint), Club de lectura (a person from the cultural world is invited choose a book, which is read and discussed in groups) and Bookcrossing) or that delve into the secrets of the seventh art (Film circles.  Insights into the film world). It also promotes exhibitions: comics, books on artists, etc.
