Consultation of documents in the reading room
The Library has 24 reading places, as well as equipment with Internet access to view audiovisual material.
A bibliographical information service available at all times during opening hours, will resolve any doubts that users might have about the Library and its documents collection. Enquiries can also be made by e-mail: biblioteca@artium.org. E-mails will be responded to as quickly as possible.
Selective dissemination of information
Contemporary art professionals and researchers can receive updated information on a monthly basis on the new items acquired by the Library of ARTIUM in different theme areas (architecture; photography; graphic arts; installations; sound art; performance; film and plays; painting; drawing; video art; sculpture; comics).
You can take out a subscription to this service by completing this form and choosing one of several subjects of interest to you.

Inter-library loans
The aim of the inter-library loan service is to exchange and obtain documents between different libraries and documentation centres. Loan requests may be made by library users and other libraries.

Through the Library of ARTIUM, users can request documents belonging to other entities for consultation. Ask about the terms and conditions of this service at the bibliographical information point.

Inter-library lending terms and conditions
Each loan is for 30 calendar days counted as of the date the document leaves the library.
Special documents are provided in the form of reproductions, whenever this is possible. The following documents are considered to be special: reference works, periodicals, dossiers, non library material and any other document the loan of which involves a risk for its conservation.
Documents must be consulted within the centre that receives the loan. The Library that borrows these works shall have sole responsibility for their adequate conservation.

Royalties
Documents requested through the service are for private use, teaching or research only and the use of reprography and reproductions shall be governed by current intellectual property legislation.

Acquisition requests
Users of the Library of ARTIUM can recommend the acquisition of bibliographical collections (books, magazines, videos, DVD, CD-ROM, etc.) relating to the subjects covered by the Documentation Centre.
If you wish to request new acquisitions, please complete the following form. All applications will be studied carefully and if they are considered to be suitable, the appropriate steps will be taken to procure the requested item.

This bulletin presents a monthly list of the works acquired by the Documentation Centre providing the following bibliographical information: author, title, publisher, year published, ISBN and signature.

Regulations for reproducing the Library´s collections
Users may obtain reproductions of books, documents, periodicals, brochures and graphic materials in the form of photocopies (for this purpose, there are self-service copying machines at the user´s disposal). Authorisation must be obtained in the Reading Room of the Library for the use of cameras.
The following regulations must be taken into consideration when making reproductions:
Users may not photocopy more than one third of the document.
- The photocopying of documents more than 50 years old or that might run the risk of being damaged due to their special nature (rare or valuable editions, large documents, in poor condition, etc.) is forbidden.
- The Library does not accept responsibility for any use that may be made of reproductions in contravention of the legal rights of the author.
Comic and film loans
The Library of ARTIUM gives you the chance to borrow part of the items of its files. This service is to be asked for at the Library. You will be given a form that you have to fill in order to obtain the Library carnet.
The items for loan are these: audiovisual items (DVD, video, cd, cd-rom) and comics. All materials required for museum´s activities will not be under loan, nor those in which this is indicated or the rest of the items of the Library´s archives.
